SALENTEIN WINERY

(fermentation chambers)

Our second winery was Salentein. Started at their Killka restaurant where they served both a Sauvignon Blanc and a Malbec with lunch, followed by a tour of the winery which was for the most part similar technology as O'Fournier. The architect was also the same, so we saw a lot of concrete, and again their cellar resembled something belonging to a secret society or cult... the tasting occurred in one of the cellar chambers where only the table and the Salentein crest on the wall above were lit. We tried a Chardonnay, a Malbec, a Pinot Noir, and a Cab-Sauv. Their only reserve wine available for purchase was a 2007 Malbec.

(secret society much?)
