The decadent Montreal weekend continued with a relaxing day at the spa. Quite a different experience than the more rural Scandinave Baths (such as the Blue Mountain location), the Old Montreal location right in the city is in a renovated industrial building by the water facing Old Port. Although not as large as the outdoor baths of Blue Mountain, the Old Montreal Scandinave offers sleek interiors by Montreal firm Saucier + Perrotte. Glacial tones in the frosted glass, marble mosaics are juxtaposed against the volcanic rock-like palette of dark stone tiles and black slate. The undulating wood ceiling warms the space up. In the 5 hours spent in the spa and baths we managed to fit in a massage, sauna, steam room, hot and cold baths as well as some repose in the juice bar lounge area. (photos via ArchDaily)
